Satish Sambhoje was born on 2nd February 1934 in Patwardhan, Maharashtra. He was an ardent follower of the Indian National Congress. He served as a guiding light for many freedom fighters during his lifetime. He was inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and became one of the first Indian citizens to join the Congress during the early 1940s
His first political act was to form the Patwardhan Taluka Youth Congress which was later renamed as the District Congress Committee. At the age of 16, he became the youngest member of the Maharashtra Provincial Congress Committee.
